Julie Wesson Independent Funeral Directors Ltd is a family owned and run funeral director serving Beeston, Chilwell, Attenborough and all surrounding areas. We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

As a small, family owned company, we feel we can offer a much more personal and caring service to our clients at a time when they need it most. From your first phone call until the day of the funeral, we are with you every step of the way and will provide you with complete support and guidance.

Losing a loved one can be a harrowing experience, Julie, her husband Richard and their trained staff not only take care of your loved one with the upmost dignity and respect, they ensure you receive the highest level of guidance, care and support during this most difficult time.

Company History

Julie and her husband Richard opened the first office in Beeston in 2007. Julie started working in the industry at the age of 17 on a YTS government training scheme, going on to develop her career with a national diploma in funeral directing working for a number of years in Beeston and surrounding areas in a managerial position.

In 2004, Julie left work to have a baby and become a full-time mum. Our son Jack is now 14 and is becoming involved in the family business. My reason for coming back to Beeston was not only that I had worked here for a long time, but also because of my family’s fifty-year history at Hogg’s Butchers on the high road, which was started by my grandfather George Hogg”

After 10 years at The Forge on Wollaton Road and building a reputation within the community Julie and Richard have now relocated their Beeston office to beautiful new premises just around the corner on Villa St. The new beautifully decorated premises were opened on the 18th January 2020 by Tina Stowell MBE Baroness Stowell of Beeston and has been affectionately named Harold house after Julies father who sadly passed away September 2017.
